Big Snake Pried Off Car Engine By 2 Men

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- It took wildlife management services workers more than two hours to coax a six-foot boa constrictor from the engine area of a car.

The snake slithered across a yard on Atrium Circle in Pine Hills around 1:45pm Saturday then made a beeline for the vehicle.

The car's owner, John Capo, witnessed the snake go toward his Nissan Maxima. When Capo lifted the hood, he saw it resting on the engine. Suddenly, the snake slithered beneath the engine and coiled itself around a hose.

"This is the most exciting Saturday I've had in a while," Capo told Eyewitness News.

Capo called Corey Hicks of Critter Control. When he saw snake wrapped up in the engine he realized he couldn't get it alone. He brought in his assistant, Matt Harrison, to help.

At one point, the Maxima had to be lifted up by a jack so the workers could reach it. But it held on with all it's might. The car was even turned on, but that didn't help.

"It didn't budge a bit," Hicks said.

The boa constrictor finally let go around 4:15 p.m.

Hicks took it away and plans to keep it. He said it was most likely someone's pet that either escaped or was discarded outside.
